Japanese anemones

I always feel that when these flowers start to bloom it marks the beginning of the end of Summer.  Not that Summer has been that great here in S E England this year! We have, as you see, three varieties, the third of which is a pale pink, which seems to get slightly paler each year.  I have photographed them as a triptych before, but they are so pretty I couldn't resist another.
In other news: The Taliban continue their relentless march across Afghanistan and having now taken Kabul, consider themselves the new leaders of that beleaguered country.  I have read about and seen footage of the people, mostly men, attempting to flee the country and women terrified of the horrors that most certainly lie ahead.
