DERELICT OR VENERABLE?

I do love the old CALIFORNIA PEPPER TREES in the parks. This tree is located
between the Pickle ball courts &
the Veterans’ Pavillon, with plenty of room to stretch & reach for the sky. It casts shade far & wide.

I vote for VENERABLE.
There is nothing derelict about this tree.
