Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Double exposure

Not really, just two birds close together.
I was woken this morning by my sister ringing the door bell, she'd managed to let herself in through the back door with her key but we'd locked the inner door so she could come no further. I think we've managed to convince it wasn't deliberate lol! At least that's my story in sticking to it!
We had a quiet morning, missed church as I was so tired after yesterday's fun and games. Thank you all so much for your lovely comments on our mum to be. She's still on cloud nine.
We walked down to the shop and picked up some bacon and rolls for a late breakfast then lazed around the house. The various members of the tit family arrived en masse in the red currant bush, there were coal tits, great tits, blue tits and long tailed, the blip is of the latter two. There were over 30 birds on the currant and the magnolia but this was the best shot I could manage. It was taken through the window from the other side of the lounge for fear of scaring them off if I tried to get any closer.
Joyce's train was at 4, so we went into town early and had coffee and doughnuts in the Market Street cafe. We sat at the feet of the statue in the Council offices. Its a shame there's not a couple of benches in the area they'd be well used.
I came home and picked up Colin and we went to Ali's to pick up the car we'd left there yesterday, I came home via Lidl where I picked up some chocolate croissants. The girls are here overnight and that is very much their breakfast treat at Grandma's. Isobel took great delight in telling Joyce and Michelle yesterday that breakfast at Grandma's was THE BEST - capitals because she repeated it about three times complete with hand gestures and emphasis! They only have half each so it's not too bad and worth it to maintain my reputation as the best grandma in the world!
We had a light dinner, I think we're still recovering from demolishing the sandwich mountain yesterday! The girls arrived around 7.45 and put themselves straight to bed after doing their teeth and giving us huge cuddles.
I downloaded the 100+ pictures which all those with apple phones had shared yesterday, somehow I managed to take only 4, all of Ali posing in her tiara. There were some lovely pictures, everyone looked so happy and the sun shone, just what it had hoped for. The girls had a ball, they arrived late on and were involved in taking down the gazebo and balloon arch, they spent a long time playing in the balloons, they were in heaven! See today's extra which is from yesterday
An early start for me with them in the morning so a good excuse for an early night tonight.
Keep safe and well everybody.
