Bee on rudbeckia

Another of the plants in the new raised bed. I spent some time this afternoon being enchanted by the number of bees buzzing around the new plants. This is just the effect I wanted from this raised bed. Plus everything I have planted is a perennial, fingers crossed they do come back every year. 
In other news we visited a lovely café called "The Nuttery" in Notgrove this morning. Open 9.30 to 2.30, 7 days a week and serving delicious brunch and lunch items. It's only ten minutes from home and we will definitely be back.
