Derelict, you think?
Well I´m sure you´re right.
Buslaz is a more-or-less linear village in the concejo of Villaviciosa. It has a mixture of houses that are used and houses that are falling into this sort of disrepair. The usual cause of failure to invest in keeping a viable property alive, is cumbersome inheritance laws that allocate parts of an inheritance to family members. For both political and economic reasons, a lot of Asturians have emigrated - mostly to the Americas. If someone who has emigrated, or the descendants of someone who has emigrated, and lost contact with his family, should inherit a house, the other inheritors may find they can´t sell. There ought to be a simple legislative solution to that but there seems as yet to be no political will to create one.
