Self Isolation: Day 2 of 10
Feeling much the same today, and no energy. W is rather pleased to find that she may not have to self-isolate for the full ten days, given the rule changes coming into force tomorrow. She’ll probably need to get a PCR test though, and at the moment if she answers the questions on the Government website honestly, she can’t get one. We’ll see if the advice changes tomorrow.
Searching for another ‘round the house’ blip, I came across this. For those that don’t remember them, it’s a Hillman Imp, a rival to the Mini that was made in a sewing machine factory in Glasgow. I have reason to remember these; when I took my first driving test I had taken all my lessons in a Ford Escort. On the day of my test the instructor was due to turn up an hour beforehand so I had time to practice; in fact, he turned up five minutes before the test was due to start in a brand new Hillman Imp with less than 100 miles on the clock, and the reason he’d been late? The exhaust had fallen off. So my first time driving it was the actual test itself and I realised about twenty minutes in that I’d not taken the handbrake off! I tried to do it surreptitiously but clearly the examiner had missed nothing, and I failed. I never drove one again, and never wanted to!
