A Busy Day on the Cut
Lots of activity on the water with narrowboats and other types of craft. We were quite taken with the 3 men in a boat and the guy in the canoe rowed over and tied on to Fiddlesticks when Frank offered him a Magnum. He had rowed all the way from Wigan over the last 10 days camping in his tent at night.
The other busyness was us weeding the mooring garden and path. A relentless job.
There are so many deep rooted thistles and I can't get them out due to my sore fingers so Frank will tackle them. I cut back other things like spinach which had gone to seed and lemon balm and pulled up the shallow rooted weeds. Then we were rained off.
Now we're inside and sun has the cheek to come out again!
Yesterday Sam, my stepson did a 35 mile run in the hills in Northern Ireland where he lives. It took him 13 hours and the climb was 4,300 feet. We are well impressed and proud of him. We were able to track his progress on an app he sent us.
We are just lazing for the rest of the day, reading mostly and maybe some knitting for me.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.
