A good crop this year
These are little cherry plums on the tree which grows intertwined with the oak. Some years, we seem to get almost no fruit, other years there's a good crop - though I rarely get around to picking much before the birds have it all. I also noted that there was a reasonable crop of black plums (or are they damsons?) on some of the trees that grow in our hedge.
Today I picked a few of both varieties plums that I could reach (see extra) - the cherry plums are probably a bit underripe, and as such not very sweet, the black ones are lovely. We'll have them in our morning fruit bowls.
