Take #32....Action!

OK, Let's try that again...Take #33.....

Geez, this little guy was the busiest little bee I have ever tried to photograph.. but then, until Blipfoto, I never even thought of photographing a bee!  Why would I? Anyway, this one kept flitting from one flower to the next, totally disappearing into it, then emerging and darting into the next one faster than I could even SAY snap ..... If "blurry bees" was the challenge of the day, I'd be a happy snapper, but alas, it was not. I stuck with it though as I really wanted a photo that said "garden" and that little bee was a good bet...Why "garden"? It had  become the highlight of my day...

Flashback....

"Oh, how I love the sound of hedge clippers in the morning! "

I was having my morning coffee with the Saturday newspaper when the Garden Rescue Squad arrived - totally unexpectedly; they were not to come until next week! If I had known, I would have dressed for the occasion - or at least got dressed period... Caught off guard, yes, but upset? NOT! That is the kind of surprise I like!  The perfect way to start my day - with a crew of four, armed with whipper snippers, hedge clippers, a leaf blower and yard waste bags, coming up my driveway!

"Good Morning WHITBY!"

Seems the garden team I had hired to whip my garden into shape had a hedge-clipping job today west of here and my house was en route...and having all the appropriate equipment with them, why not stop at my house and get started on that mammoth task? (Why not let me know was my first thought, but I said nothing!)  So, for a couple of hours, they went to it..the garden was buzzing - a hive of activity so to speak...vines were mercilessly slaughtered, weeds were yanked out of their beds and tossed into bags, weed-smothered stone pathways were assaulted with whipper snippers, and like it or not, all shrubs were given a close shave. Before I knew it, I could see earth between my plants, and stones in my stone pathways! What a concept! It was just a start...they will return next week while I am up at the cottage to finish the job. It will definitely be something uplifting to come home to!  Bubbly will be poured. Expect a blip!

So, Mr. Bee..there is hope for you and for my garden....It will survive...and it will thrive...I do hope you will stick around and continue to help out...
