Up
Up early to leave one car at Flotterstone before the crowds and then zipped down with t’other to Carlops. Set off jauntily and got to the first gate. A rather grumpy looking cow stood guard. Hmm. Cautiously we went through and went a few steps well away from Grumpy. She followed then proceeded to duck down as if to charge, just like the cartoons! RUNNNNNNN!
Comedy style we goofed back to the gate seriously scared.
Now what??
Back in the car, dropped it at Nine Mile Burn and took a new route for us. Still a bit shaken, jeez it was windy and not overly pleasant. The first Kip was rather grim but brightened up as passed the half way point and when finally reached Turnhouse it was a relieved downhill to a hot cuppa tea, just as the rain came on.
20,000 steps bagged.
Muted rest of the day, bath, papers, a hunt for just the right acer for the front garden and then home to watch The Mauritanian, excellent film even if we had to pause for a snooze half way through.
