Heather, Heather, Heather

There are three species of heather in the UK. Ling and Bell heather are found on drier ground while Cross-leaved heath tends to prefer damper areas. We have all three on our local nature reserve, which is a mosaic of both wet and dry heathland. Sometimes you can find all three heathers growing in the same spot.
