Going through the change

JJ and I had a walk over the ridge this morning and were surprised how dry and overgrown the path had become.  Lots of wild flowers including an abundance of chicory, but not much in the way of wildlife.

The bean fields have turned black and the big wheat field looks ready for cropping so I expect the farmers will be busy within the next few days.

I could almost feel sorry for the magpies.  This one might still be colourful but it's definitely not looking its best.
