New Forest memories

Had a lovely morning spent reliving happy memories of the New Forest (I worked for the Forestry Commission in the past).

Here’s Lyndhurst and the The Crown, a coaching in built in 1600. 

The extras are related to Alice in Wonderland. Alice Liddell,  who Lewis Carroll wrote the books about (and for) spent her married life in Lyndhurst and is buried in the local St. Michael’s and All Angels church. It is a shame that in these days, she was only an accompaniment to her husband and doesn’t event warrant her own name!

Off to Portland in Dorset next.
