Blue Tongue Lizard

On the way to the beach track I heard my neighbour shriek. I found her trying to dissuade this fairly large Blue Tongue Lizard from going into her yard with a broom. We were able to successfully relocate him/her. The lizard was at least 40cm (16 inches) long and 10cm (4 inches) at its widest. They flatten themselves when "threatened" to loo larger and hiss while showing off their blue tongue. While they have powerful jaws they don't really "attack" humans (although my neighbour was not so sure. At this time of the year they just want to find sunny spot to warm up during the day as they are cold blooded.
