No Electricity

Bit of an unexpected blip today.
Around 2pm I heard a 'bang' outside and the lights flickered - then a small explosion - lights flickered again - then quite a large explosion and smoke blowing past my office window.
The 'connection thing' at the top of the electricity pole had exploded and the wooden pole was all burnt.
Rang Yorkshire Electricity emergency number and they were really good. Within an hour we had vans, diggers, road signs etc. etc.
Upshot of all this was, we were then without power until around 9pm - hence the 'Candlelight Dinner' blip. It was quite pleasant and 'romantic', but it's surprising how much you miss electricity when it's not there :-)
