Anthony Horderns
I bought this clock, in this condition (ie. without the glass) many moons ago... cannot recall when - probably around 1988. It was made, or at least sold, by Anthony Horderns in the 60s. It has the most beautiful, unassuming, simple chime - more of a gong than a chime. One strike on the half hour and the hour's count on the hour. It gave up the ghost some 15-20 years ago. I went into a clockmakers 10 years or so ago and asked about getting it repaired and it was not worth it (or so they told me).
I still wind the chiming mechanism (when I can find the key) as the chime still works as you move the minute hand past the hour and half hour.
