All that remains

Of Uig farm on Dava is this roof slate, the faint outline of a rough road and the remains of fencing enclosing land from which the heather has been cleared and the pair of gateposts in the extra .

Situated between Sithean an Aitell and the Anabord Burn, the farm is clearly marked on the 1871 OS map as consisting of a house and steading. The OS name book of around that time describes Uig, which means the nook or solitary hollow, as being'A small farm dwelling having suitable offices at hand, one storey high and in fair repair'.
