The birthday

Today is my eldest son's 17th birthday. It has been a rather hectic day, as after we got back from France late last night there were mountains of laundry to get through today and groceries to be bought and dentist appointments -boring, get on with it...

Luckily for him he broke up for the Easter holidays today so after having to endure a dentist appointment on his birthday - bad planning, silly mum - we came home and I cooked him his favourite dinner - Thai green curry - and afterwards we had chocolate cake. I confess the cake was store bought which was not what I intended to give him - I had hoped to find time to make his favourite carrot cake but sadly the day was too hectic and I ran out of time. So sometime in the next few days I will be making a carrot cake.

He had a happy day so I guess this is my happiness blip as suggested yesterday by earthdreamery. He will be even more happy when he starts driving lessons in the holidays....
