Sway from side to side

That’s what my ‘how to shoot dragonflies’ book tells me to do, don’t believe it, he still saw me coming. 

I saw him land on the fence of the courtyard and I quickly got my camera out. First shot I get his backside (see extra) so I move around in front of him and managed this shot before he flew off.

I think it’s a common darter, feel free to correct me if I’m wrong.
