Keeping a watchful eye

The promised rain didn’t arrive till the afternoon so my walk this morning was more enjoyable than expected.

I went to Rouken Glen where I could enjoy a walk and a visit to the garden centre.  Large spaces in the garden centre being cleared ready for the Christmas displays.

I watched the moorhens for ages as they padded across the lily pads. Plenty of tall vegetation, almost, but not quite hiding the birds from view. The moorhen chick is just like a round downy covered ball.

I had planned to split my irises this afternoon but down came the rain ….. plan thwarted.
