Spread Your Wings, Prepare to fly

Today was a momentous day in the house.

Robbie, the headless caterpillar hatched into a Butterfly.   He wasn't there when I woke up... I made coffee and hung out the washing and when I came back... he was gone.

Cue : Much screaming once more - if he wasn't deaf from our screaming when they did the wiggling. He's deaf now.

Sadly I had to go to work, and by the time I spoke to Si at lunchtime, both Howard and Jason had birthed too.

Since I came home tonight, I have sat and gazed at Mark and Gary, waiting and waiting and Waiting for them  and yet..... they haven't birthed for me.

I am thinking they will probably be out tomorrow morning and I'll have missed the whole adventure.

Except for the meconium  - I've seen the meconium.... there's lots of it.   Wow.  Amazing.   And the Tongues - which are born split - and join up to make a straw.
