Hedgehog Rescue
Well done to neighbour Jo who came across this hedgehog in the middle of the street in the heat of the afternoon. She moved her down to the back of the terrace and to our shrubbery and we put out food and water which she tucked in to. We thought all was well, although hedgehogs are not usually out in the day time, but then she took off down the grass and settled down in the full sun near a neighbour's back door. Lots of telephone calls to local rescue centres ensued and finally Jo found a place for her.
The rescue centre had over a hundred hedgehogs and no spaces so a deal was made to bring back a healthy one to release. It turned out this little hedgehog's claws were too long and she was too thin, so she is now in the best place being nursed back to health. Now we await the going down of the sun so that 'George' can be released in the shrubbery! Think I might set up the camera again tonight!
