Bearsden Floods
It never rains but it pours! So mum had been transferred into a ward from A&E. We were allowed to visit but as we were about to set off the heavens opened. It rained heavily for a few hours and got very deep.
Dad reckoned the manhole cover had previously blasted of in 1994/95 when French friends of ours (Bernard and Martine) were visiting. I was in Brazil at that time. You can see a kind of whirlpool on the pavement I front of the car - that's the manhole bursting.
Storm clouds parted and sun shone soon enough, ending in a dramatic Glasgow sunset on the Kingston Bridge (see additional photo).
