Idiot bird

I saw this pathetic sight first thing - a young gull meep-ing for a parent/food/take-off instructions. Standing in the street it was liable to get squashed at any moment by a vehicle coming round the corner. Saw the remains of one of its idiot cousins squashed into the setts just around the corner the other day. Of course, a car did come round the corner, but fortunately it slowed down as the idiot child was very slow in lumbering out of the way,

Strangely, when a man came around the same corner shortly afterwards with a dog on a lead, the gull suddenly remembered how to fly and took off with no problem.
