Poppy fields
Walking with the spaniel in the Chilterns this morning I came across four huge fields of poppies. The few that still have flowers are large and white with a lilac centre so I think they must be Papaver somniferum. I assume they are grown under licence for the pharmaceutical industry otherwise perhaps I've stumbled across something illegal.
I came up here overnight to sort out my father's bungalow so that my daughter can live in it until her move to Sussex early next year. Her landlady has sold her flat and she has three weeks to find somewhere new to live. Apart from my weekly visits, the bungalow has been empty since my father went into a care home last year.
