Went to see the Queen but she wasn’t in.
This morning we had a trip to Sandringham for a look round the house. The Queen must have heard we were coming as, according to the news, she arrived at Balmoral today, around 450 miles away. We’ve been round the house before and it is lovely to see; it has a really ‘homely’ feel to it. However, given the length of the tour I was glad we were visiting as part of our membership of the Historic Houses Association and not paying the entrance fee of around £40 for the two of us.
We drove home along the coast road through Thornham and Brancaster and then stopped in Burnham Market for a sandwich lunch. I liked the way these tourists were lined up on the benches outside this restaurant, eating the sandwiches they had bought elsewhere.
