Lavender Leveret
One of the problems with young beech trees is that they tend to hold onto their dead leaves all winter and throw them off in the springtime.
One of the problems with a lavender hedge is that it catches and holds onto beech leaves in the springtime.
One of the problems with hiding your baby under the leaves in a lavender hedge is that a gardener may come along with a very powerful vacuum machine to suck up said leaves, thereby inadvertently almost sucking said baby hare through the shredder.
Big baby.
I proved to myself today that I am at heart a big softie townie. The leveret will soon grow-up into a plant munching monster; we do have problems around the estate with the wildlife eating the gardens, and the obvious thing to do was to quickly dispatch it to hare-heaven.
Instead I stood and said aahhh, just like a big girlie!
