Hörnle

Up early this morning to meet Otto & Andrea and head up Hörnle. We’d picked an absolutely perfect day for our first real hike of the year even if the sun meant it was a bit on the warm side going up. The view is from the summit looking towards the Ammergau Alps; the Extras are the view from the same spot looking North, a Kaiser-mantel butterfly warming itself on the path and the view from our breakfast spot of the Zugspitze which at just under 3,000 meters is the highest mountain in Germany.
Stopped in Murnau for a while on the way back but then just as we joined the regular traffic jam into Weilheim the car’s brakes started binding. Not great and not a great burning smell! The poor wee car is now residing with the local garage. Just as well our bikes are ready for action!
