Yes, but it's not food
I always try to pass on desserts. I managed to get rid of my sweet tooth in the eighties after a '70's childhood of awful school dinners, atrocious food at home and only sweet shop consolation.
When I learned to cook proper food I didn't need sweeties anymore.
I'm not sure what place cakes have in the culinary landscape these days. A shot of sugar can help you digest a umami based main course, but what ever else?
