Post Hand-in Project
Years ago, back in school, when my friends and I would finish the last exam for the year we would always celebrate by immediately going out and creating some ridiculous object (usually a beer bong) to have fun with in the ensuing weeks of invariable relaxing and partying.
A small taste of that was had today. With our dissertations handed in yesterday, Ivan, Oli and I drive to Aldershot to buy the reduced poker tabletop in the picture. Unfortunately, but quite predictably, this reduced Argos piece of crap was, in fact, a piece of crap, and flimsy as anything.
To B&Q!
We bought some mdf, got it cut roughly to size, and took our success out to the car. It wouldn't fit. No way. Looks like we're walking it home. So as I drove past in fits of laughter, Ivan and Oli struggled with a massive piece each on the 20 minute walk back.
We got it back and after some arduous sawing with a neighbours tools we got it all into to shape. A tablecloth and some beers and our poker table was complete and it's so much better for the work we put in.
