Port Laing

Sunday long run time again. To mirror last week’s route on the south shore, I ran along the north shore of the Forth estuary this morning.

Handily there’s a long distance footpath to follow. I caught the bus-bus to the bridge at Kincardine and the start of the Fife Coastal Path. I’ve run the path from North Queensferry to St Andrew’s (in sections) but never been on the path west of the Forth bridges.

I’m not sure I’ll be rushing back. It seemed to be a pavement through large swathes of industrial history interspersed by wee villages. Coal mining, salt pans, shipyards, lime and dolerite quarries. And it rained heavily for about 15km.

Anyway the sun returned near North Queensferry and followed me to Dalgety Bay. This view is a beach between the industry near Inverkeithing. Plastic nurdles throughout the sand.

[EDIT] I've just found that Port Laing was used as a pre-WW1 seaplane base
