Japanese gold

Today is the last day of the Tokyo Olympics. They have been a great source of hope and inspiration over the last two weeks, and we shall miss watching them.

This is Kinkaku-Ji, or the Golden Pavilion, a zen buddhist temple in Kyoto. We visited it in 2017. It has nothing to do with the Olympics except that it is Japanese and beautiful. Also, its top two storeys are covered in pure gold leaf.
