... This is Croyland (originally known as Rysland), Ayr Road, Newton Mearns. The house was designed in 1874 by Alexander Thomson for his friend, the measurer John Shields, who had earlier been his neighbour at 3 Moray Place.
Frequently drive past this house but decided today to take a closer look while out walking.
