Ghost Ranch Labyrinth

This is one of the two labyrinths that I've found on Ghost Ranch. This one is designed for contemplation and reflection as a spiritual experience.

The "rag tree," to the left is a celtic tradition; it is a plea for good health. It is believed that rags hung on the tree will improve one's well being as the rag rots away.

As you can see, the labyrinth has got a great view of Cerro Pedernal, "Flint Mountain". Pedernal is the source of both Jicarilla Apache and Navajo origin stories.
