Beach combing

Specifically, West Runton beach, once there was a dry window between heavy downpours. Manda and I spent an hour and a half metal detecting and searching for fossils. No metal found, but a few interesting rocks. We also spotted, abandoned, a pair of sea shoes size 5, and pair of pink socks and a small pink surf board. Not all in the same place, but I did start to wonder if someone could have disappeared in the sea. But there weren't any other clothes, so perhaps someone made a hasty retreat when the rain came, and just left a few bits behind.

Earlier in the day, we visited Alby crafts for coffee and cake. A girls day out, with Mum, Manda,Mollie and I. Manda very generously treated us. We then went into a craft gallery where I asked about the bits they sell, as they were all local artist and crafts people. They told me to send a photo/contact the owner with details of our bits. Useful info. I might explore similar in Cromer or Sheringham, but really need to make more stock, and have more ideas.

Made pizzas for dinner and all ate together. Then spent the evening doing a bit of family history research together. I wish Manda could stay longer, but she will be going home tomorrow morning.
