As Promised

The Walnut 'thing' I made yesterday (4" square by 2" tall).

We had to go out today for SWMBO to go to the bank. I was required so that I could drop her off and sit and wait for her to avoid parking charges.
However, it transpires that the owners of the centre have put up barriers at the car park, so I had to head to the 3 tier car park and hope that SWMBO would take less than 10 minutes (the 'generous' time they give before charging).
Needless to say, I was in a queue to get to the barrier to get a ticket.
As I arrived and went to press the button the barrier opened and flashed something on the control box that wasn't up long enough to read.
When we went to leave after SWMBO had been to the bank I had to press the buzzer at the barrier to explain that I was let in without a ticket and ended up talking to a very rude security officer who said it was because the car parks are now controlled by Automatic Number Plate Recognition and I had to pay by contactless card. When I was trying to fish a card out  I was saying that it might be nice if there was some notice because it was causing all sorts of problems at the barriers coming in. He was saying there was no problem and he was looking at the traffic on the cameras as we were speaking. I asked how that was as there was a barrier that wasn't working and there were cars having to try and reverse to change lanes without hitting other cars or the bollards and barriers right at that time. He just kept on saying that there were signs 'On The A Frames' telling people about the changes.
I ignored him, paid and left .... looking for the 'A Frames' and failing (I have no idea where they are meant to be) and also failing to find any signage before the entrance to the car park.
So, we now have 'a town centre' which is nothing but a huge shopping centre and where you cannot stop without paying.

We got our thunder and torrential rain day (in fairly short bursts) ..... Pictures are over here.
The pond is now at overflowing level.
