Team Time

Well, now. Here’s a turn-up and no mistake!

After the best part of 18 months… I spent a couple of hours in the office today. The ‘actual’ office! With my ‘actual’ teammates!

Having spent so long only seeing each other on Zoom or Teams, we’d planned to take advantage of the recent good weather and get together for a picnic this afternoon. But, inevitably, it rained. So, we hastily reconvened indoors, with doors and windows open for ventilation purposes, and social distancing more or less observed.

I’d managed to see Natalie twice in the last year, but hadn’t seen Steph or Laura at all, and it was the first time I’d ever met Zarah and Ellie in the flesh, as they joined the team during lockdown. Only Inez was missing, for unavoidable reasons. What a joy it was to spend time with the gang. I’m still buzzing!

I think it’ll be a while before I see the rest of my colleagues from the wider staff team, or until any or all of us are back in the office on a regular basis, but this was certainly a moment to savour.
