Morning rays
A lovely early walk with the ladies, well actually half an hour later than term time.
There was a hint of mist this morning probably created by the damp from last night’s rain, but it was fine and dry. It did though make me think that maybe the Celtic Calendar season of Lunasa, starting on the Ist of August, was perhaps the more accurate time for Autumn to begin. This was voiced by our rector in his midweek newsletter and he was particularly referring to the fruitfulness of nature starting during this month.
The mist helped to diffuse the sun’s rays through the trees as we climbed up to Lady Blantyre’s rock in the St Ives Estate. Worth a blip I thought. The figure isn’t a ghost but rose54 who also managed to get on a similar blip taken by Wilsden Walker just a bit further up on Altar Lane!
After we made the most of the warm morning by walking along the canal to the Five Rise cafe for a coffee. Busy so we had ours in take away cups on a bench in the shade across from the cafe at the top of the Five Rise locks.
Got home in time to get my washing out and dry before the arrival of the predicted rain.
