Sally Mair - Loving life

By Sallymair

Back on the chain gang !

I've always been a Chrissie Hynde fan! This young Bluetit was having a great time at the feeders this morning, no other birds in sight so it was making the most of it!
The girls stayed over last night and slept well. When I went into them this morning, Eilidh was still in bed reading her Naughtiest Girl in the School book. One I read as a child too. She greeted me with a big smile and said, "Either you are up early grandma, or we've slept in!"
Whichever it was, it was a beautiful sunny morning and it made my day starting it with them.
Isobel was excited because she had Nutella on her toast and apparently I'd put it on really, really thickly, which necessitated her using her tongue to lick it all off before eating the toast, ear to ear chocolate grins! Welcome to Grandma's House!
I dropped the girls off at school holiday club and nursery then went to Chesser for a quick shop before church. We had our usual friendly covid safe 'bring your own flask of coffee' afterwards, always a pleasant time.
After lunch I drew up a plan for the church barbecue this weekend trying to work out how best to do things safely. If we had been a week later it would all have been much easier with the further relaxation of rules. We then had a Zoom planning meeting. I think all is in hand though, and most importantly, we know where the key to the padlock on the barbecue is.... fairly essential.
I went round to Ali's after the meeting and we went for a walk. I'd picked up a pack of 24 cans of Appletiser at Costco yesterday so she was very pleased. It's her cool drink of choice at the moment and cost half of what she normally has to pay in the shops.
The weather stayed beautifully sunny and warm into the evening so I watered the garden and then we went for a walk before watching what may have been the last Rebus episode.
I'm kind of with Ian Rankin, they are not the best representation of the books. I wonder if there will be any more.

Keep safe and well everyone.
