Cullen
We all slept late again. I decided to eventually start my day with a run – along the railway path to Burghead and back along the road. TT ran in the opposite direction, our paths crossing in Burghead. It was hot.
Once a picnic was made we headed out for the day, stopping first at the Buccaneer in Elgin on the pretext of needing petrol. I know TT only wanted to look at the whisky collection!! We continued to Gordon Castle Walled Garden. It is such a lovely garden to wander around in the sunshine. We enjoyed a cuppa from the takeaway cafe before continuing on our way. With no real destination in mind we stopped in Findochty for our picnic by the harbour. It is such a picturesque village. After another wee wander in the sunshine, we continued to Cullen, where we walked along the beach to Portknockie and the Bow Fiddle Rock and then back to Cullen along the railway path. A lovely walk.
It was then home to finish off yesterday’s curry before TT and I had a lovely wander to admire the amazing sunset.
This is the magnificent Cullen beach. Extras are flowers from Gordon Castle Walled Garden, Findochty harbour and a lovely sunset at Hopeman.
