I used to go here years ago

To attend an evening class in astronomy.  It was the Maxse Road Adult Education Centre - and a beautiful building I think. The class was in the winter term I.e. January and February (so it was dark enough!). I used to put a hot water bottle inside my coat when I set off - not only was most of the class outside looking through telescopes, but even when we were in the classroom, the heater was too loud to hear the teacher so it wasn’t put on! 
I remember being gobsmacked by the scale of things - like the diameter of the star Betelgeuse in the constellation of Orion is over three times the distance between the sun and the earth. When you start to study stars you certainly feel very small and unimportant. 
The education centre closed, and the building was converted into flats.  I’ve not been inside, but I imagine they’re lovely.  Sadly, there’s very few evening classes now, and none in south Bristol.
I  was walking back from the swimming pool when I passed this - I’d been to my first Aquafit class, which was fun - and funny:) They're also trying to close the swimming pool:(
