Steak Futures

Apologies to the vegetabletarians that found my previous milk futures blip cute but I had a chat with Farmer Robert today and these are in fact Steak Futures.

I.E. they are boy cows and a little redundant in the dairy industry. The problem is that you only need 1 or 2 bulls for a dairy herd of 300 but you get 50% of the annual calves as males. The ladies go on to have a happy life of eating grass and making milk but the boys only get 1 year of this then are a little less lucky.

Sorry if this offends anyone but its a basic farm necessity. If you drink milk then you have to accept the beef industry as an integral part of the life-cycle.
