All Downhill
My walk today was something of a recce. I usually walk uphill from home when in search of birds, but as the first waxcaps have appeared on the lawn, I thought I’d have a look at a favourite local site for fungi and at the same time, see if there were bilberries to be picked and if blackberries were ripening. Sadly, no fungi yet, not enough bilberries to warrant a collecting trip, and no sign of ripening blackberries. On the plus side, I saw a Buzzard overhead, and watched a family of Nuthatches in a small woodland. I also managed a Big Butterfly count. Of course the walk home was all uphill.
