Big Butterfly Count
Normally there’s a wonderful selection of butterflies enjoying the summer flowers. That’s why the Big Butterfly Count happens from late July until mid August.
This year, as we know, the weather has been weird.
Today was warm and sunny and our little friends should have been out in large numbers. The white butterflies were indeed (mainly large whites).
I had to hunt for the solitary Red Admiral, one brave Small Tortoiseshell and this elusive, fluttery Comma.
This morning the Walled Garden at Shugborough was a total delight.
