Make my day!

We had planned to stay in and do some paperwork, but the sun was shining when we got up so we we made the decision to make the most of it and went to RSPB Old Moor. The first hour or two were quiet, but then we started to see some nice birds. The last half hour threw up some brilliant sightings including a great spotted woodpecker, a brambling, a redwing and not least, as we were sitting in the garden hide, this juvenile male sparrowhawk. It flew in, scattered the small birds on the feeders and sat on the branch right in front of us for several minutes. What a treat!
