Addo elephant

We went to Addo Elephant National Park today - Penni wanted to go to the lovely souvenir shop to buy gifts for her friends in New York...and any excuse is good enough for a visit!
The weather was rainy and overcast but with beautiful lighting. We didn't see many animals but just being there was special.
This elephant bull was standing in the road and we could not pass him. He was eating thick branches from bushes-  I've never heard an elephant crunching thick branches like he was doing. He didn't budge. Fortunately there was a small sand road nearby and we could nip past him.
 Penni bought lovely gifts for her friends, we had our usual enjoyable picnic at the picnic site...so another special day in the African bush.
