On the Holm of Huip
A 'holm', pronounced 'home' is a small, usually green islet in Orkney. I was lucky enough to be invited to help on a day surveying storm petrels on some uninhabited holms- Linga Holm, Little Linga, Holm of Huip and Holms of Spurness, none of which I'd visited before. Not much luck with the stormies but a great day. I can never resist a nice skull and the extras include a seal skull entangled in flowers. Also extra is a shot of grey seals. We saw them around every isle but Linga had as many as 500! .
