Wings & other things!

I was spoilt for choice with Blips today ..... we had a fabulous walk 'up the road' this afternoon .... saw so many things :-)

There were butterflies fluttering ...... we saw Goldfinch, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Yellowhammer, Kestrel, House Martins.

I finally chose this young Green Woodpecker with its parent ...... a Thrush (heavily cropped) & a Green-veined White butterfly.

I loved the Teasels against the river so had to include them too :-)

On the way back watched a Barn Owl hunting over the field! It managed to catch some dinner & flew over our heads with it & went into the old barn ..... not sure if he has any young as the barn is on private property.

We also talked to a couple who said they had seen an Otter in the river ..... we will be taking a look each time we walk up there in the hope of seeing it .... that would be a real treat! :-)
