Blackheath's Busiest Corner

This is the corner of Govetts Leap Rd and the Highway.
Though very quiet today (lockdown), it's more commonly the spot where you see someone you really need to catch up with, and it's not unusual to see several groups standing around, chatting, despite the fact that it's also the coldest and windiest corner in Blackheath.

There is a photo on Flickr, taken in 1983, which illustrates well the importance of documenting the businesses, if for no other reason than to help settle disputes about which shop was where, when long term Blackheath residents vie to display their superior knowledge.
The only shop still there is the wonderful Blackheath Family Shoe Store.
It's worth checking out for locals.
