Live it loud!

365 - Not out!

Not quite unbroken I'm afraid. I didn't do one a day for the first week or two while I was lurking in the shadows. I missed a couple in September when I was unavailable. I wished I could have done 365 straight, but, it didn't happen.

It has been a challenge at times and I feel my mojo has gone a little over the last few weeks which is disappointing. Am really looking forwards to the better light and weather (I hope!) to get out and trap a few images in the great outdoors.

I just have to thank John Gravett for introducing me to Blipfoto amongst many new skills and techniques at a Landscape workshop in February last year. I'll be there again in a few weeks for another week and am drawing up my targets for that adventure. Am looking forward to it immensely.

I also thank everyone who has visited my images over the year and special thanks to all those who commented, regularly and otherwise, and also with whom I have exchanged thoughts. Those people stretch from some nearby (or who originate from nearby - we must arrange a meet up sometime this summer) to those at the other side of the world in New Zealand (we'll have to meet up sometime!!)!

I look forward every day to looking at images produced by you all. I also look forward to the journals produced by those who are either very simple - letting their image and few words take you places. Many are far more eloquent that I could ever hope to be, and, in a number of cases, far far funnier than I could ever dream of (you know who you are - many of you are from and around Bradford). It is always a treat at the end of the day to get onto Blipfoto if opportunity hasn't arisen during the day. To catch up on the lives of everyone here.

I don't profess to be a brilliant photographer, but both John and Blip has given me something to chase. I'm always striving to create pleasing and/or informative images. This is a great platform to pursue those aspirations.

Today's celebratory image was thought up over the weekend and was constructed, played around with, tested over the last couple of days. Today was always going to be a very busy day with no certainty of getting time to capture anything, so, forgive me for setting this up to just click when I got home, run through LR and pop it out here. I'm out again doing a talk at the camera club and still have some prep to do - Aghh!

I'm sure many will recognise that as Meccano (Yes - it's still around) although this is a set bought for me by my sister a couple of years ago - not my original set. That is still around somewhere and contains parts that originate from the 1940's and belonged to my uncle! I used this far newer one a couple of weeks ago for the light trail image.

Simple set up with flash behind, set at 1/32 power and at 35mm zoom. Metered and then +2 stops to saturate the white background (a roll of old gloss paper).

The intention was to capture the shape and holes in both the numbers but their shadows. I hope it works.

Again - many many thanks to everyone here!
